About the Artist

My name is Jocelyn Nixon and I am the creator of the Less Than Perfect linocut prints. I have always loved linocut artwork. When I was little, my grandmother had a linocut print hanging next to her front door for as long as I can remember. I always loved it, and anytime I saw a linocut print it always made me think of her. I started making linocut prints in 2025, and it has quickly become a passion of mine.

The name Less Than Perfect is somewhat self explanatory, the idea that my artwork is absolutely less than perfect. This name came to me as part of my insecurity around my art. I have no formal training at all, and have just kind of figured this out as I went along. This name has come to mean more to me as I continue to work in this medium. Perfection is a fallacy, and even if it were obtainable, it would be undesirable. The beauty of this art lies in the fact that each one is unique. Each print is a work of love and it moves me deeply that you are viewing my artwork.
